A gear-reduction motor is a type of motor that utilizes the planetary drive principle and employs gear meshing. In most applications, this type of reduction motor has replaced two-stage and three-stage conventional cylindrical gear reducers as well as cylindrical worm gear reducers. It features the following characteristics:

1. Drive efficiency: Since the meshing portion employs rolling engagement, the efficiency of a single-stage drive typically ranges from 90% to 95%.

2. Compact structure, small size, and light weight. Compared to conventional cylindrical gear reducers, planetary reduction motors can reduce in size by 2/1 to 2/3.

3. Few failures and long service life. The main drive meshing components are manufactured by grinding using bearing steel, ensuring excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance. Moreover, since the friction is rolling rather than sliding, the equipment experiences fewer failures and boasts a long service life.

4. Smooth and reliable operation. Thanks to multi-tooth meshing during the driving process, the operation is smooth and reliable with low noise.

5. Easy to disassemble and assemble, and simple to maintain.

6. It features strong overload capacity, shock resistance, and a small moment of inertia, making it ideal for applications involving frequent starts and reversible operation.

7. High gear ratio. For single-stage reduction, the gear ratio ranges from 1/6 to 1/87. For two-stage reduction, the gear ratio ranges from 1/99 to 1/7569; for three-stage reduction, the gear ratio ranges from 1/5841 to 1/658503. Additionally, multi-stage combinations can be employed as needed to achieve even higher specified gear ratios.
